What do we do?
Our mission
Studentradion i Sverige was founded in 1993. We are a nationwide youth organization created for students who broadcast radio.
We are a youth organization in Sweden with approximately 2000 members.
Our member stations conduct radio editorial association activities by and for students in post-secondary education such as college, university and folk high school. Today we have 11 active stations that broadcast lots of exciting radio programs every day!
Our main purpose is to support and encourage student radio activities in Sweden. We are working to improve the conditions for broadcasting student radio, but also to expand the cooperation between our member stations. The cooperation could be about exchanging knowledge, expanding editorial cooperation or creating better economic conditions for young students interested in radio.
Organization and control documents
Studentradion i Sverige is made up by members, member stations and the board, as well as by an office. How we organize ourselves is regulated in our governing documents.
Organization
Members
Studentradion i Sverige has about 2000 members. Every member is associated with a member station.
Member stations
We have 11 member stations. These work independently with their own board. The stations are located throughout the country, from Umeå in the north to Lund in the south.
Stormöte
The general meeting (stormötet) is the highest decision-making body of the organization. Two general meetings are held each year, one in April and one in November. These deal with motions, the organization's activity and the election of the board, nomination committee and auditor.
The board
The board leads the organization's operations. The members vote for who will be elected to join the board. The board manages the day-to-day operations between the general meetings and runs the organization in the manner determined by the meetings.
Working groups
The board has working groups under it that consist of board members and members from all over the country. The committees work on various topics that the general meeting has decided on. This may, for example, be about developing policies or strategies for the organization.
Office
The office works on behalf of the board with, among other things, finance, communication, funding and organizational development.
Control documents
By-laws
The by-laws is the organization's main governing document. They regulate, among other things, our purpose, how we're organized and how decisions are made.
